"Contact" is a captivating movie about a scientist (Jodie
Foster) struggling to establish contact with aliens and having
a funding problem.
Eventually she does gets her funding, but when N-O-T-H-I-N-G
turns up, she's back to square one: no money for research
and a belief that most other people scorn.
Then, the signal arrives from outer space, and the movie
takes off. It continues about her problems deciphering the
message from outer space, her candidacy for becoming a human
guinea pig - that's the person who gets to go up in the spaceship
the aliens sent the blueprints for - and her amazing journey
out into space.
Jodie Foster's acting is terrific, and handsome Mathew McConaguhey
(Foster's love interest in the movie) is also good. Not to
mention that he gives you something to drool over.
Anyway, I give this movie a five, but only because that's
where the movie rating scale ends. I'd really rather give
it a ten!
My rating: 5 stars
Rating: PG-13
