The music business is changing every day with new artists and
new styles. Brittney Cleary is a new youngster to hop on the music
train. At only 12 years old, she already has a single called "I.M.Me"
that is sweeping across the Internet. Brittney, originally from
New York, started to notice her talent singing karaoke and moved
to Tennessee to develop her skill. We got the chance to interview
Brittney and here is what she had to say. You can hear her sing
"I.M. ME" at MP3.com
Q: How are things going in the studio?
A: Good.
Q: Do you like your songs?
A: Yeah, they are cool.
Q: What is it like being in a recording studio and singing
your own songs?
A: It's cool. It's better than singing cover songs because
they are my own.
Q: What kind of cover songs did you used to sing?
A: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and songs like
that [on karaoke].
Q: What do you do in your spare time other than sing?
A: Go to the mall shopping. I usually sing.
Q: What do your friends think about your music career?
A: I don't really tell them about it....only my close
friends.
Q: What age did you start singing?
A: Around 10.
Q: When did you decide that singing was something you
really wanted to do?
A: Last year.
Q: Was it hard to give up your life in New York to move
to Tennessee for your career?
A: Yeah, I didn't want to leave my friends, but I made
new ones.
Q: What did your friends in New York think about your
career?
A: They thought it was cool, but they didn't want me to
go.
Q: Do you still keep in touch with them?
A: Yes.
Q: What is different about you than other singers:
A: I don't spend 24/7 on singing, I like to do other things.
Q: How is it having your father working as your management?
A: Sometimes it doesn't work too well, but we are all
right.
Q: Where do you want your career to go from here?
A: I want to be famous!
Q: What kind of fans have you attracted so far?
A: The 8-12 year old age group.
Q: Is it strange seeing your face on the net and in the
press?
A: Yeah, but it's cool now. I'm getting used to it.
Q: Do you get annoyed with repeated questions asked during
interviews?
A: No, I haven't been doing interviews very long.
Q: What is it like meeting people you consider celebrities?
A: It's cool. It's really fun.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to and who is your
favorite artist?
A: I don't really have a favorite. I listen to everything,
you know Country and Pop.
